Olallie Meadow → South Pinhead Butte Miles Today ≈ 7.5 Miles | Total Miles ≈ 7.5 Miles
Our first night on the PCT! M+F picked us up this morning and drove us to Olallie Meadow and then they left. We headed into the woods. We had a little panic when it wasn’t clear where the trail was but we soon found our way. The walk was easy and as we walked and talked everything became increasing euphoric. We are so happy to be in the woods, away from everything. We made it to Lemiti Meadow at surprising speed and had a hearty lunch of bagels, cheese and salami. We decided to keep walking and made it up South Pinhead Butte. Just as we were getting tired a lovely campsite appeared. We had a dinner of rice and beans from the lightweight backpacking book. It was so much and we only cooked half of it. The warm food and being outdoors helped us get to the bottom of the pot. We’re in our tent now, full off food and tried but so happy. We’ve made our plans for tomorrow. I’m sure that we will soon be asleep.
