Friday, August 30, 2013 | Day 7

Lolo Pass (Almost) → Watum Lake
Miles Today ≈ 17 Miles | Total Miles ≈ 80 Miles

Another outstanding day of long, wet, soggy, exhausting hiking. At this rate we realize that we’ll be done two days earlier than planned, but we have no cell phone service to let M+F know. Coffee inside the tent this morning. Everything inside the tent is dry but it’s difficult to keep it that way as the rain is incessant.
It rained all night long last night. The majority of the past 36 hours we have been engulfed in clouds.

Schlugged along today until 1pm or so when we finally walked out of the fog and the beautiful vistas that were right in front of us were exposed. The rest of the day went well (except the squishy boots), I’ll probably lose a few toenails due to them being waterlogged for so long.

We made it to Indian Springs after an awesome lunch on a sunny rockslide facing west, looking at amazing vistas that remind us of Ethiopia. We were able to dry out our tent on the rocks while we had lunch.

Another Spud-Bomb for dinner, though we were so tired that it was difficult to eat it all. Looking forward to getting home and being able to take a shower.

Thumbs DOWN for the worst weather!
